6th club competition for 2018 at the ERCE club in Eindhoven

6th club competition for 2018 at the ERCE club in Eindhoven Hello everyone,
last Sunday I took part, together with my team-mate Rick van den Akker, at the 6th club competition for 2018 at the ERCE club in Eindhoven.

For me it was a completely new track, I had just seen some nice videos on youtube and I must say that: live is even better!

The track was clean and with a good grip since the first heat of practice. That made me a bit deceived during the tests because the car was very easy to drive and I thought I could make a decent result .. I was wrong!

The big difference in this race was made by the motors, the only rule was "at least 17.5T or more of the "brushless" type"... so many drivers used various expensive killer motors (and also "outlaw" motors were allowed).

The motor I brought is the Turnigy stock spec V2, i got it from Racingline RC to take part in the championship that will take place in Vianen at MRC club. This motor, with 46 ° (optimal setting) of timing develope around 2650kv but unfortunately was absolutely not enough to fight against at least 3400 kv (without any loss of power) developed from other motors.

Despite the great difference in performance I tried to take advantage of the day to learn as much as possible.
The race formula included 2 qualifications and only 2 finals, in the Q1 I simply continued to learn the track closing it in 5th place, in the Q2 I installed an Lrp Flow esc and i had a better feeling, especially with the brake so I tried to push a little more improving the best lap by one tenth and even doing a lap more than the previous quali. Unfortunately it was not enough to enter the final A which was instead managed by my team-mate Rick... well done my friend!

Start with the number 5 in the B final.
The first final was really exciting, at the first corner there has been small accident that involved several cars but I managed to avoid the it and at the third corner I got the first position.
The car was really good and, thanks also to the new set of Sorex tires, I managed to stay in the lead for about half the final until, unfortunately, I touched a curb dring a corner and the car rolled up.. i got overtake from 3 drivers and I closed in 4 position .. really a pity.

Also this time (as i did in the last race at HFCC club) in the last final I mounted the Bittydesign M410 instead of the Montech Racer and the body worked well, also this time the feeling was very positive, the car had a lot of cornering, but was still easy to drive and balanced (the next race i will use it from the beginning :-D) but, some mistakes did not allow me to close the final in better than a 5th position which means 14th position overall.

It was a beautiful sunny day spent in good company on a nice track.. the only thing I'd like to say is about the technical inspections, in my humble opinion it was too rough, so it is not difficult to "play dirty" and earn a lot in performance.
Well, thank you for spending a bit of your time reading me and see you next time.

Ciao!

The driver that finished Second used the Turnigy OUTLAW version, it develops 2850kv at 20 degrees.. not the same as mine.

The 2nd place driver Erik-Jan also used the Turnigy motor.
