Het vervormen van bijzonder lichte carrosserieën bij hoge snelheden kan de prestaties merkbaar beïnvloeden. De MXLR Rear Body Support voor de XRAY X4'26 is ontwikkeld om de carrosserie aan de achterkant extra te ondersteunen.

De extra carrosserersteun:

• voorkomt dat de carrosserie vervormt bij hoge snelheden
• vermindert het risico op scheuren ter hoogte van de achterste wielkasten
• zorgt ervoor dat de carrosserie zijn beoogde vorm beter behoudt

Bij de ontwikkeling is er speciale aandacht besteed aan de constructie van de X4-bulkheads en het belangrijke buiggedrag in dit gebied. De Rear Body Support is zo ontworpen dat de invloed ervan op de buiging van de auto zo klein mogelijk blijft.

Opmerking over de productie

Dit product is een 3D-geprint onderdeel. Door het productieproces kunnen er daarom zichtbare lagen en lijnen in het oppervlak zitten. MXLR hecht veel waarde aan een zo hoog mogelijke printkwaliteit, maar de oppervlakteafwerking van een 3D-geprint onderdeel komt door de constructie niet overeen met die van een gefreesd of spuitgegoten product.

Met de trend naar steeds lichtere carrosserieën en tegelijkertijd hogere snelheden wordt het vervormen van de carrosserie bij hoge snelheden steeds meer een probleem. De MXLR Front Body Support voor de XRAY X4'25 / X4'26 en X4F'27 is precies hiervoor ontwikkeld.

Deze extra carrosserersteun ondersteunt het voorste deel van de carrosserie van binnenuit en:

• voorkomt vervorming van de carrosserie bij hoge snelheden
• vermindert het risico op scheuren ter hoogte van de voorste wielkasten
• zorgt ervoor dat de carrosserie haar beoogde vorm beter behoudt
• ondersteunt zo een constant aerodynamisch effect en maximale neerwaartse druk
• kan de levensduur van vooral lichte carrosserieën aanzienlijk verlengen

De MXLR Front Body Support is gemaakt van hoogwaardig kunststof en heeft aan beide kanten een lasergravure.

Bij de ontwikkeling is extra aandacht besteed aan de flexibiliteit van het chassis aan de voorkant. De Body Support is zo ontworpen dat de invloed ervan op het flexibiliteitsgedrag van de auto zo klein mogelijk blijft.

Montage

Voor de montage wordt het volgende aanbevolen:

• 2x M3-schroef, 8 mm lang, om de Body Support aan de voorste bumperplaat te bevestigen (niet meegeleverd)
• 1x aluminium schroef, 6 mm lang, om de juiste hoogte in te stellen (niet meegeleverd)

De bovenste stelschroef moet net de binnenkant van de motorkap raken, zonder de carrosserie op te tillen of extra te spannen. De carrosserie zelf moet daarbij normaal op de voorste carrosserieclipsen of O-ringen rusten.

Opmerking over de productie

Dit product is een 3D-geprint onderdeel. Door het productieproces kunnen er daarom zichtbare lagen en lijnen in het oppervlak zitten. MXLR hecht veel waarde aan een zo hoog mogelijke printkwaliteit, maar de oppervlakteafwerking van een 3D-geprint onderdeel komt door de constructie niet overeen met die van een gefreesd of spuitgegoten product.

The SkyRC S65neo is an AC charger and discharger that fits in one hand at 84 x 84 x 45.3 mm and 200 g, yet delivers 65 W of charging power at up to 10 A charge current. It runs straight from the mains at 100 to 240 V, so no separate power supply is required.

It charges LiPo, LiHV, Li-ion and LiFe with 2 to 4 cells, NiMH and NiCd with 6 to 8 cells and Pb batteries with 3 or 6 cells (6 or 12 V). The pack connects to the XT60 main port, the balance lead to the balance port next to it, and a dedicated socket for the temperature sensor sits on the same side.

Ten amps from a housing this size

At up to 10 A of charge current a pack is ready again considerably sooner than on a 6 A charger. This is made possible by a synchronous rectification circuit that raises efficiency and reduces waste heat. Main output and balance port monitor every single cell while charging; balance current is 500 mA maximum.

Charge, discharge, cycle, store

Lithium packs can be run in Balance Charge, Charge, Storage and Discharge, NiMH and NiCd additionally in Re-Peak and the cycle programs Cycle_C_D and Cycle_D_C, which run one to three charge/discharge passes to refresh a pack. Pb batteries are charged normally, as AGM or in cold charge mode. Discharging runs at 0.1 to 2 A; because the balance port works alongside the main output, the charger reaches up to 10 W of discharge power.

Internal resistance and Battery Meter

The Battery Meter shows total pack voltage, individual cell voltages and internal resistance – useful for spotting a fading pack before it shows up in a race.

ColorX interface, six menu languages

The ColorX interface with its light cyan and green colour scheme and responsive Web2.0 menu is operated with three buttons. Menu languages are English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese, with English as the factory setting. A temperature sensor adjusts fan speed to load and temperature, and firmware updates run over the Type-C port using the SkyRC Charger Master PC software.

The SkyRC T120 Pico is an AC charger with two fully independent charging circuits: two batteries of different chemistries can be charged at the same time, each with its own settings. Measuring 90 x 70 x 106 mm and weighing 355 g, it delivers 60 W per channel – 120 W of charging power in total – at up to 6 A charge current.

Both channels carry their XT60 output and balance socket on the front panel, so batteries are plugged in from the front. The charger handles LiPo, LiHV, Li-ion and LiFe with 2 to 4 cells, NiMH and NiCd with 6 to 8 cells and Pb batteries with 3 or 6 cells – the latter with an AGM mode and a cold charge mode for low temperatures alongside normal charging.

Precise control, down to every cell

Charging is governed by an Arm Cortex-M3 processor that keeps the selected values stable even under full load. Main output and balance port work together and monitor the voltage of every single cell throughout the charging process; balance current is 500 mA maximum.

Measure internal resistance on the charger

The Battery Meter function measures total pack voltage, individual cell voltages and internal resistance. During charging a press of the plus button is enough to scroll through the internal resistance of each cell – a quick way to judge the condition of a pack.

ColorX interface, six menu languages

The T120 Pico is operated through the ColorX interface with its light cyan and green colour scheme and responsive Web2.0 menu: plus, enter and minus buttons plus a dedicated channel button to switch between A and B. The menu language can be set to English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese or Japanese, with English as the factory setting.
